Point-and-click devlog #1!
Hello all!
It's March 2024 and College Fun Games has already been founded for three months!
But we have been busy! As well as getting through the admin bits-and-pieces of setting up a games studio and company, we've started production on our first game!
College Fun Games is aiming to make story rich point and click adventure games, with high quality art, voice acting and writing. CFG was mostly started because there is one game that we REALLY want to make. It's an idea that has been developed off and on for at least the last 6 years, and schedules and fortunes have finally aligned to make things ready for lift off. But that is a BIG game, and none of the team have done computer games before (although software development, marketing, music and more are already in our skill set to some extent).
The idea is to do a smaller test game first, so we can learn about working together, commissioning and recruiting artists, voice talent, writers, developers, marketing and promotion in the industry, play testing, bug fixing, launching, sales... All the different things that an indie developer has to get right in a competitive (and for us niche market).
We already have most of a script and puzzles! And a test scene in the game engine! And sketches for backgrounds and characters from amazing Scottish artists! And recruited most of the cast for the voice over recording! It's been amazing to put a team together for this crazy idea, and how much sharing ideas, and discussing things face-to-face adds so much to the project.
We are announcing the title and anticipated release date next month, as well as a lot more information about the development process as it progresses. There will be cool 'behind the scenes' screenshots, photos and input from the team as everything comes together. Hopefully you'll be able to play our first short game in Summer 2024, and if you want to keep in touch with us, don't forget to subscribe to the blog! That way you'll get the latest info, and exclusive chances to join our beta testing programme in the next few months.
